Jailbreak iOS 9 to Download Cydia

Compared to iOS 8, iOS 9 jailbreak is tougher but it doesn’t mean that no way to do it. It has been months since iOS 9 was released and we have also seen the release of iOS 9.0.1, 9.0.2, 9.1 and 9.2. Where there is a will there is a way, you can now jailbreak iOS 9 using a Semi jailbreak method. Although it is not a full iOS 9 jailbreak method, you can still download Cydia on iOS 9 devices and enjoy some of the best Cydia apps such as SBSettings after the Semi jailbreak.

For iOS 8 jailbreak, we often recommend Pangu or TaiG jailbreak tools because these tools are free and it will download Cydia to your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch automatically. It definitely save you a lot of time because you don’t have to install Cydia manually like old days. For iOS 9 jailbreak, the only workable way for now is to go through a Semi jailbreak method. This method has been tested on the latest iOS 9 supported devices such as iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPod Touch 6 Gen, iPod Touch 5G and others. Once you are ready, follow the step here to jailbreak iOS 9 device.

How to Semi Jailbreak iOS 9

Step 1: Backup everything you have in your iOS 9 device. Although this Semi Jailbreak iOS 9 is a reversible method but it is still a must to run a backup in case anything happen.

Step 2: Open a Safari browser and go to go.semijb.com.

Step 3: There will be a huge “Jailbreak Now” button and a Semi Jailbreak guide below the screen. This tool allows you to semi jailbreak iOS 9, 9.0.1, 9.0.2, 9.1 and iOS 9.2. Tap on Jailbreak Now to begin.

Step 4: Tap “I agree to continue” to allow the Semi jailbreak process begin. It usually takes less than a minute depending on your internet connection. Do not close the Safari browser during the process.

Step 5: You will see a black screen with words running. You will be redirect to a page where you need to install Semi JB app. Tap on “Install” link to install the Semi Jailbreak app on your iOS 9 device. Enter your security code and tap the Install button.

Step 6: Install vShare App Manager using Semi JB app. Alternatively, you can install vShare iOS 9using another method we shared earlier. Remember to trust the profiles in the Settings page of your iOS 9 device

Step 7: Now you can install Semi JB Cydia using Semi JB app. You can also install OpenSSH (beta) from this page. As this is a Semi Jailbreak for iOS 9, it doesn’t work flawlessly like the full iOS jailbreak. There are still a lot of limitations.

You can now install any third-party applications to your iOS 9 device. If you don’t like the SemiJB app, you can remove it or uninstall it completely from your iOS 9 device. There is also an option to remove Semi Jailbreak from your device Settings page without the need to restore it.
